OUR MISSION...

 

The Texas Scottish Heritage Society was formed to research 

those of Scottish heritage and the impact they have had on Texas history, 

and to promote and preserve the unique cultures of Texas and Scotland

 through research, education and public awareness.

 


OUR GOALS...

 

   * Create a data base of early Texans of Scottish descent
   * Collect and make available family & historical stories
   * Provide a focal point for regional Scottish Clan participants
   * Acknowledge contributions to Texas history & culture by those of Scottish descent
   * Organize & provide educational materials to promote awareness of historical data
   * Promote awareness of historical data by local communities
   * Encourage local heritage groups throughout the state of Texas
   * Promote awareness of the Texas State Bluebonnet Tartan
   * Promote state recognition of Texas-Scottish Heritage - Day of the Scots (November 30th)
   * Maintain a website to provide and collect information (www.TxScot.com)
   * Recognize those individuals in  Texas who exhibit skills in Scottish cultural arts
   * Provide a database for teachers of Scottish cultural arts
